Snake Games · 6-12🐍 Snake Games
Snake has been passed down through generations since it arrived on the Nokia 3310 in 1997. The rule fits in one sentence — eat the food, do not hit your growing tail — but playing well takes spatial planning. This page collects four different snake games: the classic, a two player version, a counting version and an obstacle puzzle version. All of them run in the browser: no download, no sign-up, no payment and no ads.
- 🐍 Snake Game (ages 5-12) — Classic snake. Eat the apple, grow, avoid yourself. In Easy mode walls do not kill.
- 🐍 Snake Duel (ages 6-12) — Two players. Green and orange share one board and chase the same apple.
- 🔢 Number Snake (ages 4-9) — Collect the numbers in order from 1. A wrong number never ends the game.
- 🧱 Obstacle Snake (ages 6-12) — Weave between stone blocks. Edges never kill — it asks for planning, not reflexes.
👶 Which snake game suits which age?
Ages 4-6: Number Snake in the 1-5 range. Because a wrong number does not end the game and walls do not kill, children are not afraid to experiment; the real gain is recognising digits.
Ages 6-8: Snake Game in Easy mode (walls are passable) and Obstacle Snake with few walls. At this age the goal is not surviving long but learning to control direction.
Ages 9-12: Snake Game in Medium or Hard, Obstacle Snake with many walls, and Snake Duel if there are two players. Here the game really asks for strategy: tail management, using corners, cutting off a rival.
🎮 How to play
On a computer you use the arrow keys; in Snake Duel the second player uses W A S D. On phones and tablets there are two options: swipe with a finger, or tap the control pad below the game. In the duel two separate pads appear, so two children can play on one phone.
Every game starts with a difficulty choice. Your choice is remembered in the browser, so next time it starts in the same mode. Difficulty changes more than speed: in the easy modes the edges of the screen do not kill, and the snake leaves one side to return on the other.
🔒 Why these snake games?
Most snake game sites live on advertising: a video ad interrupts the child, or one wrong tap sends them to another site. These games have no ads, no outbound links, no sign-up form and nothing to buy. The game is ready the moment the page opens, and nothing is left behind when it closes — only your chosen difficulty, kept in your own browser.
They are also all built around choosing a difficulty. Most classic snake games are tuned to adult reflexes and a small child loses within seconds. That is exactly why walls do not kill in the easy modes: so the child learns control before they learn losing.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Are the snake games free?
Yes, all four snake games here are completely free. No sign-up, registration, download or payment is required and there are no ads.
Can I play without downloading?
Yes. The games run in the browser and open from the same link on phones, tablets and computers. There is nothing to install from an app store.
Is there a two player snake game?
Yes. Snake Duel is played by two people on one screen: one uses W A S D, the other the arrow keys. On a phone two separate control pads appear below the board.
Isn't it too hard for a young child?
Every game has a difficulty choice. In the easy modes the edges of the screen do not kill, so a child is never knocked out by a wall. In Number Snake a wrong number does not end the game either.
Is it like the classic Nokia snake?
Snake Game keeps the classic rule: eat, grow, do not hit yourself. The difference is that speed and the wall rule can be chosen — so the same game can be tuned for a six year old or a twelve year old.
Do the games work on a phone?
Yes, all four are designed for touch. You play by swiping or tapping the on-screen pad, and the game still fits the screen when the phone is turned sideways.
