📘 How to Play Hide and Seek 3D

Hide and Seek 3D takes place across the rooms and garden of a house. Your goal is to reach the red button without being caught by the monsters. The moment you press it the monsters puff away and a new round — in a new house — begins. But you are not alone: a rival is racing you to the same button.

  1. Pick your character from the menu. Knight, mage, ranger, explorer and hero all run at the same speed; only the look changes.
  2. The red arrow at the edge of the screen points to the button and shows how far away it is. Follow it, but do not run blindly.
  3. Every monster has a yellow cone in front of it — that is what it can see. Orange means it noticed something, red means it is chasing you.
  4. Running is fast but makes noise and pulls monsters toward you. Hold Ctrl to sneak silently, or walk to make less noise.
  5. Step beside a wardrobe, chest, bed or bush and an E bubble appears. Press E to hide, and E again to come out once the monster has passed.
  6. At the button, hold E for 1.2 seconds. Let go early and the ring counts back down.

👶 What to expect at ages 6-12

The game asks a child to track two things at once: where they are going, and who is looking where. In the first rounds most children run straight at the button and get caught; after a few tries they learn to wait behind a wall and watch the cone sweep past. That is the real skill being built — observing and choosing a moment instead of rushing. The trickiest lesson is usually noise: it takes a while to connect "it heard me because I was running".

🏠 At home and in class

Sit next to your child and ask "where is that monster looking right now?" so they practise reading the cones. Take turns — you play one round, they play the next — then talk about which wardrobe they would have picked. In class, project it and split the room into two groups voting "run or wait?", which makes the risk-reward decision concrete.

💡 Tips

  • Doorways are marked with a yellow threshold — use them to move between rooms instead of tracing the walls.
  • If a monster sees you hide, it will come and open your hiding place. Make sure no cone is on you first.
  • In laser rooms the beam between the posts is safe while dim. A blinking yellow beam means it is about to switch on.
  • If the rival gets there first you still finish the round — only the bonus is lost, so do not panic into a monster.
  • When the breath bar runs out you cannot sprint; hiding refills it faster.

🧩 As the rounds go on

Every round rebuilds the house with more rooms — from 6-7 early on to a 13-room maze later. Monsters grow from 2 to 6 and see further. From round two, laser barriers appear in some rooms. Each round also moves you somewhere new: a stone town, a new neighbourhood and a forest edge rotate in turn.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What age is Hide and Seek 3D for?

The game is designed for children aged 6-12. The monsters are colourful and friendly rather than scary, and getting caught costs a heart without restarting the round.

Is Hide and Seek 3D free? Do I need an account?

The game is completely free. No sign-up, registration or payment is required — it starts as soon as the page loads.

Can I play it on a phone?

Yes. On phones and tablets a virtual joystick appears on the left and HIDE and RUN buttons on the right. Because the game is 3D it needs a modern browser with WebGL.

Who is the rival — a real player?

The rival is currently a bot that plays by the same rules as you: it does not know the map, it searches for the button, it runs from monsters and it gets stopped by lasers. Whoever reaches the button first earns the bonus.

What skills does Hide and Seek 3D build?

It targets planning, attention and spatial orientation. Children map the rooms, predict where a monster is looking and decide when to run and when to stay quiet.

Are there ads or unsuitable content?

No. There are no ads, no external links and all content is safe for children.
