📘 How to Play Water Sort?

Water Sort is a logic puzzle where you pour colored water layers between glass tubes until each tube holds a single color. There is no "losing" state here, because every puzzle is generated and checked by a solver behind the scenes before it is ever shown to you.

  1. Tap the tube whose top color you want to pour.
  2. Tap an empty tube, or one whose top layer matches — the matching top layer(s) pour across.
  3. The level is complete once every tube is a single color or empty, and the next (slightly harder) level loads automatically.
  4. Stuck? Tap 🔀 Shuffle for a brand-new layout at the same difficulty that is ALWAYS solvable.

🧪 Why is every puzzle really solvable?

After the puzzle is randomly laid out, a "solver" runs behind the scenes — a method that tries out every possible move in sequence to check whether a solution actually exists. If none is found, the puzzle is reshuffled before you ever see it. So every puzzle that appears on screen is mathematically guaranteed to be solvable.

📈 How do levels get harder?

Level 1 has only 3 colors; each new level adds one more color, and after level 7 the color count holds steady while the number of empty tubes increases instead. Difficulty climbs gradually, never in a sudden jump.

👶 What to expect at age 5-10

For the youngest players, the skill is simple rule-following: "if the top color matches, I can pour it." Older kids start planning a few moves ahead, figuring out which tube is worth emptying first.

🏠 Use at home

  • Because no puzzle is ever unsolvable, a child never hits a dead end and gives up in frustration.
  • An adult can support planning skills by asking "what do you think happens if we empty this tube first?"
  • Works exactly the same with sound off.
